Using the mouse highlight/select ALL the code. (if your website is using frames click the frames option, and hit the submit button to generate frames code first) 5. Right-click with the mouse and click copy. (if your a mac user, go to edit and click copy) 6. Open up a program called 'notepad' or another simple text editor. Do not use FrontPage or any HTML software for this as these programs could corrupt the code. 7. Using notepad open up your homepage file, it may be called index.html or something similar. (If you don't know how to do this because someone else designed or hosted your website for you then we suggest you get in contact with them to add the statcounter code.) 8. If the code is installed fine, then are you sure you are getting visitors? Did you configure StatCounter counter to block your visits with a cookie, or to block them based on your IP address? Try to get a friend to visit your website, and see if they get recorded. If that doesn't work then you may also have other javascript that comments out our code by accident. Or perhaps some badly formed HTML. If it still doesn't work, then create a very basic test page to see if it works on that page. Or you can also try moving the StatCounter code nearer to the top of the page.

In order to use StatCounter on My Space please follow these steps: (1) Create a new project within your StatCounter account. (2) Create a HTML only, Image Counter using the set up wizard. (Note that the options for HTML only code and Image Counter will be presented to you during the steps in the set up wizard.) (3)Copy this code and past it into the About Me section of your My Space profile and save the changes. If you picked a visible counter you will be able to see your visitor count on the profile page. All your stats will now also start collecting in your StatCounter account. Note that ONLY the HTML-only counter can be added to My Space pages. It is not possible to use the full javascript code. In addition, the Counter Image Counter must be chosen (NOT the Text Counter). Both of these options are found in the StatCounter set-up wizard. Please note that, in the past, My Space have blocked the use of StatCounter on My Space profiles. Although StatCounter is currently (April 2008) working well on My Space it is possible that My Space could again decide to block StatCounter in the future.

When setting up StatCounter via our “code setup wizard” choose Friendster. This option is the 5th page in when you follow along in the setup wizard.
